This weeks round up
Life rolls on . ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁⋆.˚
It’s been a slow week at my day job.. which, if you don’t know, I work in private aviation. There are plenty of stories on that topic at a later date.
I had plans to watch the 4th game of the NBA finals this evening which fell through. Admittedly, I wish I was more serious about the finals but I am still shopping around for a new team to pledge alliance to. I had a short lived love affair with the Clippers (thanks to my guy friends) but it has ended, leaving me on the market. Now, my Friday night plans are to sit on my couch and reflect on my week, while Sex in the City (season three) plays in the background.
Here’s my highlight reel:
I scored a pair of vintage Gloria Vanderbilt trousers for $1.34. When is the last time you have bought anything for a dollar and thirty-four cents? Unfortunately, the catch is one of my favorite hidden-gem-thrift stores (in my home town) is closing, so everything was 75% off. They fit immaculately. They’re loose enough for me to wear in my personal life but also fitted enough for me to wear to the office. So, despite the store closing, this was a win.
Thanks to a slow Thursday at work, I got to have one of my favorite lunches; Whole Foods Hot Bar with my mom. This is something we indulge in from time to time. It’s a simple pleasure really.
I planned the Official Start Of Summer Pool Party. The weather this Saturday is reading a ripping 90 degrees, which means swimming is necessary. Also, driving 40 minutes north, to my home town (and out of the valley) is also necessary. Earlier this week I had realized that summer never really seems to ‘begin’ but you blink and it’s over. And that’s fucked. I’ve declared this Saturday the official hard-start of summer. It’s here folks.
I’ve been out of matcha which means I’ve allowed myself to indulge in a week of AM cafe runs. Recently, the cafe in walking distance from my apartment added a “Premium Matcha’ to their menu. Prior to this, there was a Matcha latte on the menu, but it was a premade latte mix. This meant it only came nauseatingly sweet. Which I can get into ..once in a while… as dessert, but I can’t start my day this way. Thankfully, the new so called Premium is respectable and has been in heavy rotation this week. I really could and should write a matcha guide for the valley.
I’m reading again. I’m utilizing the public library again. Don’t sleep on the public library, like literally, no one is too cool for the public library. I picked up a book on Patricia Field who, if you know, was the stylist/ costume designer on Sex and the City. The book has enticingly glossy pages with photographs scattered through. We’re easing back into reading.
I won’t ramble on. Have a lovely weekend and Official Start to Summer <333333
